Club History

Founded in 1920 as Victoria in the fishing village of Volendam, the club became FC Volendam in 1977. Known as "De Palingboeren" (The Eel Farmers), they carry the traditions of North Holland's fishing community.

Nicknamed the "heen-en-weer club" (the back-and-forth club) for their frequent yo-yoing, their 2025 promotion was the 11th in club history — celebrated with the traditional fishing boat parade, the botter numbered XI.

Kras Stadion

The 6,984-capacity Kras Stadion has been home since 1975. Its modest, homely atmosphere reflects the fishing village surroundings.

Fishing Village Identity

Volendam is a town of roughly 20,000 people, yet football passion runs deep. The club is the village's greatest source of pride. The fishing boat parade that accompanies each promotion is a celebration found nowhere else in football.
