Founded in 1907, Real Betis are a storied Seville-based club. Their sole La Liga title came in 1934-35, but Copa del Rey success in 2005 and a Conference League runners-up finish in recent years show their enduring quality.

The "Seville Derby" against Sevilla FC is among Spain's most passionate rivalries. Betis fans, known as "Beticos", are renowned for their fervent support — they once set a world record with over 70,000 supporters filling their stadium in 2023.

Manuel Pellegrini has managed the club since 2020 and extended his contract until 2028 in November 2025. The only exit clause allows him to leave for the Chile national team, reflecting the deep mutual trust. His possession-based style has kept Betis consistently competitive in La Liga's upper half.

For the 2025-26 season, home matches are being played at Estadio de La Cartuja while the Benito Villamarin undergoes a major renovation project due for completion in 2028.
