Founded in 1890, Sevilla are based in the Andalusian capital and are one of Spain's most storied clubs. While they have claimed just one La Liga title, their record seven Europa League (formerly UEFA Cup) triumphs make them the undisputed kings of the competition. The most recent came in 2022-23.
The 43,883-seat Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan pulses with Andalusian passion. The Seville Derby against Real Betis is widely regarded as one of the world's most intense derbies.
Financial difficulties have forced the sale of key players including Bade (to Leverkusen) and Lukebakio (to Benfica). Matias Almeyda managed the first half of 2025-26 before being replaced by Luis Garcia in March 2026. Experienced signings such as Alexis Sanchez and Azpilicueta were brought in to aid the survival fight.
