Club History

Founded in 1919, Angers are a modestly-sized club from the Loire Valley known for sound management and youth development. While never league champions, they have competed in Ligue 1 on multiple occasions since returning in 2015.

The stadium bears the name of Raymond Kopa, a legendary player who began his career at Angers in the 1950s before winning the Ballon d'Or at Real Madrid. He remains the club's greatest icon.

Stade Raymond-Kopa

Originally opened in 1912, the stadium was renamed in 2017 to honour the late Raymond Kopa. With a capacity of 19,800, its compact setting reflects Angers' family-oriented club culture.

Alexandre Dujeux

Appointed in March 2023, Alexandre Dujeux achieved promotion in his first full season with a 2nd-place Ligue 2 finish. His defensive, counter-attacking approach suits Angers' limited budget. A contract extension through 2027 signals a long-term project.
