FC LORIENT
FC Lorient
Club History
Founded in 1926 in the Breton port city of Lorient, the club first reached Ligue 1 in 1998 and have oscillated between the top two divisions since. Their greatest achievement was winning the Coupe de France in 2002.
After relegation in 2023-24, Lorient won Ligue 2 immediately to bounce back to the top flight. Under Olivier Pantaloni, they return to Ligue 1 aiming for stability.
Stade du Moustoir
Opened in 1959, Stade du Moustoir holds 16,787. A compact, atmospheric ground where the Breton sea breeze sweeps through the stands. Lorient was heavily bombed during WWII, and the stadium is a symbol of the city's post-war rebuilding.
