Match Preview
- On the final day, 3rd-placed Manchester United (68 points) face 7th-placed Brighton (53 points) away. United trail leaders Arsenal (82 points) by 14 points but can finish the season in 3rd, above Manchester City (74 points, two games left). Brighton are confirmed to finish 7th on 53 points, just outside next season's European qualification places.
- On Matchday 9 this season, United beat Brighton 4-2 at Old Trafford. Both sides adopt a 4-2-3-1 formation, making it a contest where the creativity at No. 10 and the attacking threat on both flanks will be key.
- Danny Welbeck (35), starting up front for Brighton, faces his former club Manchester United. The veteran centre-forward, who was at United from 2001 to 2014 and also won the Premier League there, "leads the team's front line with diligent pressing and hold-up play" and aims for a goal against his old side.
- United's ace Bruno Fernandes (31) drives the attack from the No. 10 role. As captain, the attacking midfielder who "posts overwhelming numbers in both goals and assists" also has top-class set-piece precision; can he lead a team in good form (4 wins and 1 draw in their last five) to victory in the final game too?
- Brighton's midfield linchpin Pascal Gross (34) returned to Brighton in January 2026 from Borussia Dortmund after seven and a half years away. With "set-piece precision and game-making ability as his greatest weapons," he brings stability to the side using his wealth of Premier League experience. Can his veteran partnership with 40-year-old James Milner dominate midfield?
- Amad Diallo (23), set to start on United's right, came of age by winning the top-scorer title at loan club Sunderland. The young attacker, whose weapons are "left-footed cut-in shots and creativity-rich dribbling," looks to cut through Brighton's defence. His battle with Brighton's left-back Ferdi Kadioglu is one to watch.
- Brighton's hopeful, Japan international Kaoru Mitoma, is out of the squad. Whether it is due to injury or tactical reasons is unclear, but for fans it is a disappointing outcome not to see Mitoma play on the final day.
