Founded in 1973, Villa Women have a long history in English women's football. Promoted to the WSL in 2022, they play selected matches at Villa Park (capacity 42,640). Former England international Rachel Daly captains the side as they look to establish themselves in the upper reaches of the table.

After Robert de Pauw was sacked in December 2024 with the club hovering near the relegation zone, Natalia Arroyo arrived from Real Sociedad. The former Barcelona and Espanyol defender brought a clear tactical identity built on pressing and quick transitions, winning the final five games of the season to finish 6th.
