Founded in 1904, Nice are based on the French Riviera and have won four league titles, including a golden period in the 1950s. After decades of inconsistency, the club was revitalised when Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS took over in 2019.
Ratcliffe subsequently acquired a 25% stake in Manchester United, and in 2025 placed Nice on the market. The ownership transition has created uncertainty, though the club's Cote d'Azur location and modern facilities remain attractive assets for prospective buyers.
Opened in 2013, the Allianz Riviera replaced the historic Stade du Ray as Nice's home. With a capacity of 36,178 and a covered modern design, it hosted Euro 2016 matches and offers a premium matchday experience on the Mediterranean coast.
INEOS placed Nice on the market in 2025, with the asking price reduced below €200M by January 2026. Manager Franck Haise departed mid-season, and Claude Puel returned on an interim basis. While ownership uncertainty lingers, Nice's Riviera appeal and modern infrastructure make them an attractive proposition for new investors.
