Founded in 1969, Paris FC merged with Stade Saint-Germain to form PSG in 1970, before separating again in 1972. While PSG pursued a star-studded path, Paris FC spent decades in the lower leagues.
In May 2025, a 2nd-place Ligue 2 finish achieved promotion to Ligue 1 after 46 years — a truly historic moment for a club that once faced extinction.
In November 2024, the Arnault family (LVMH) acquired 52.4% of the club through Agache Sport, with Red Bull taking 10.6%. This unprecedented combination of luxury brand and sports business backing positions Paris FC as a serious project to build the capital's second major club.
From 2025-26, Paris FC play at Stade Jean-Bouin in the 16th arrondissement — directly opposite PSG's Parc des Princes. Shared with rugby's Stade Francais, the 20,000-capacity ground provides a symbolically charged location for Paris's second club.
